Windows 10 Support Expiring

End of Support Date: Microsoft will officially end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. After this date, devices running Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical assistance from Microsoft, increasing vulnerability to security risks and compliance issues.

Upgrade Options: Clients are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11, which offers enhanced security, performance, and new features. Most Windows 10 devices meet the minimum requirements for Windows 11, including a 1 GHz processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and TPM 2.0. For devices that do not meet these requirements, Microsoft offers Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for a fee, providing critical security patches for up to three additional years.

Business Implications: Continuing to use Windows 10 beyond its end-of-support date can expose businesses to security vulnerabilities and potential regulatory non-compliance, especially in sectors like healthcare where data protection is critical. It’s advisable for organizations to assess their current systems, plan for necessary hardware or software upgrades, and ensure a smooth transition to supported operating systems to maintain security and compliance standards.
